Can you explain further? Why did the doc lower your dose? Were you having symptoms of hyperthyroidism or did he do this based on your TSH level alone?

I had a complete removal of my thyroid 5 years ago due to the findings of thyroid cancer went to new doctor and they said the thyroid level was to high so they lowered it all ready taking the lower dosage so far no problems'

Well if you're not having any problems then you are good. If hypo symptoms start to creep in with time ask your doc to test your free T3 and free T4 levels so you can see how much thyroid hormones you have. I assume they want to keep your TSH suppressed as low as possible with the ca diagnosis.

I was told after all said and done that they need to keep the thyroid level elevated some what so the cancer would not grow back so thats why i was kinda worried about this new doctor changing the level after being the same level for over 5 years now.
