I got sleeping pills & they worked! 7.5 hrs of straight sleep!

Good morning friends.

I know I haen't been posting a lot. I see many new faces that I wish I could post a welcome to. This sleeping issue is still out of control and it takes all my energy to put in a days work and then I'm too wiped out to come here.

The drugs that I have aren't working (Rozerem, Lunesta, Ambien, Tylenol PM, pain killers, benadryl, etc.)

Well, I have good news!

My LLMD prescibed a full strength sleeping pill for me! Yay! It's called estazolam. It's an actual narcotic.

I took one last night and I was asleep at 11:15pm!!!!! I can't remember the last time I fell asleep before morning.

Oh boy did it feel good. I was watching the Daily Show with John Stewart and I fell asleep before his guest came on.

The next thing I knew, my alarm was going off at 7am and there was an infomercial on TV! Yay!!

11:15pm to 7:00am. I can't believe it. It's a miracle.

My LLMD also prescribed a morning pill called provigil. It helps to wake a person up. It's used for people who work shifts. She said it's not a "pep" pill exactly, but will help me shake the morning grogginess.

I may be risking dependency by taking the sleeping pill, but I have to admit that I don't care. Should I develop a dependcy, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

So far I feel great this morning. I feel a bit groggy. I took a half of the provigil. Maybe I'll take the other half.

I think I'm a little high from the joy of getting 7 1/2 hours of straight sleep! As I continue to take the sleeping pill, I'll let folks know if my sleep patterns return to normal.

Just wanted to share my good news. Peace and health to all.

MicBlues glad to hear you got some sleep. I was told long time ago in order to help the healing process one has to sleep. And hopefully it won't be hard to come off of it when it is time.

For now enjoy gettting some rest.

I tried provigil didn't work for me. So the doc then put me on ritilan.

I was thinking about you this am before you posted. So was very happy when I saw you on here!

Hugs to you Micke!!

Re: I got sleeping pills & they worked! 7.5 hrs of straight sleep!

Thanks for responding jojo.

Your screen name always reminds me of that Beatles song; can't remember the title. "Jojo left his home in somewhere Arizona, looking for another something." (I am the worlds worst lyrics learner.)

I just took a sleeping pill and I'm looking forward to another night's sleep.

What a difference today! My attitude was so improved, I actually smiled and laughed today; haven't done that in a long time.

I also hope that a regular pattern of sleep will help my body begin to heal again.

I wasn't ready to run a marathon or go to the gym today, but I was able to stay alert all day and not break down crying over some little thing.

It's hard to tell if the provigil worked or not. It's been so long since I got 7 hours of straight sleep, that if the provigil had no effect, I wouldn't know.

For now I will keep taking a half of provigil in the morning. Then after a few days/weeks maybe I'll stop and see what happens.

So how are you? Are you still walking outdoors with your babies? Next time you do, send a wave towards the east coast and I'll wave back.

Peace and health to you.

IN Tucson Arizona....get back jojo....haha....I hadn't even thought of that until you just mentioned it...shoot now that is one of those things that will stick in ones head....hahaha....

Your name 6Blues always makes me think of the music blues...I LOVE THE BLUES...but now I know you had a 4 legged child named blues...Wow those little things we find out about eachother here on the boards...uh...

Your post sounds a little more up ...hopefully you will continue to sleep. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you...

Yes took a long walk out at the lake the last few days...with NOOOOOO snow or any rain it has been sunny and good for me and the kids to get out and enjoy the fresh air. Trust me I think alot of you and other's on here when I am out there. Sending all those beautiful and relaxing mental vibes to you .....

I am still taking the antiviral and antibiotics for these things on my head. Let's see think about 3 months since I got back on them. And the inside of my head on the right side is not feeling as much darkness and like blood vessels are closed up. And not so much oozing out of the pours on my head...ya know it is truly pretty gross knowing that our minds, skulls, whole bodies can be filled with virus's and bacterias. Good grief that is pretty disgusting....lol...more like a sci fi movie!!! Still have the swelling on the top but back part of my skull...this morning woke up with pain in my head but guess I will take the way that it is right now compared to what I have been going through...crazy stuff....

Anyway can't wait to see how you do now that you are sleeping...
Always a treat to see you post!!!

Sleep well Micblues... ..
Hugs to you....
Jodie
