Post New here.....Question about symptoms.

I just found this site while doing a "Symptom Search" on google.

I think I might have TMJD. I KNOW I clench alot. Sometimes I wake up and my teeth are sore from clenching so hard! Even during the day I notice that I'm clenching really hard. I get stressed easily so I think that makes it worse.

So, now I am getting the clicking sound when I chew. Not all the time, but here and there. It was really bad the other day. I've also noticed that when I open and close my mouth really wide it feels like it "catches" on something, just a little....And sometimes when I first start to eat I get a really bad pain in my jaw by my ear.....My ear is the biggest problem. It feels weird, not painful, it's hard to explain. I am always pushing in on that little bump/flap thingy right in front of the ear. That makes it feel better for some reason. When I swallow my ear hurts. Is that part of TMJD too?

And the past 2-3 days I am getting a slight feeling of pressure behind the eyes. Not painful, just annoying.

I was wondering if anyone could describe the neck pain/spasms. What does that feel like? I think I might be having that problem too.

I would say there is an exceptionally high chance that you have tmjd.

I really think you may have TMJ..I have pressure behind my eyes 24-7..mine is painful all though it didnt start that way...Over time your pain will get worse..It's starts off as little things and works its way to destroying your life!!!I would go see a tmj doctor asap...only if I new sooner it was tmj..I would not be in this pain now!
Good luck!

I have TMJ.
I did not realize I had it until a couple of weeks ago.
My mother has it as well. I clinch my teeth troughout the day, but I think I do it during sleep.
The past week my jaw hurt so badly I could barely eat.
There is only one side that it effects.
The left side of my jaw was so swollen.
I have had these problems for about a month and a half.
My left ear gets very tender and hurts.
Everyone told me that a doctor cannot fix the problem because all they can do is give you a mouth guard to wear. I figured that I would not go to a doctor.
What should I do?

there's really nothing else you can do besides the mouthguard and muscle relaxants. everybody says surgery makes it worse so you can't go that route if you have a normal opening...my personal opinion you'd be wasting your time and money seeing a doc about this because you can get any mouthguard at a drugstore cheap.
