Question Does anyone jaw line feel warm or hot besides the pain?

Could someone let me know? I am not sure if I may have an infection as well, besides the TMJ disorder. It feels warm near my ear, along with the pain.

Thanks!!

Cat,
It just happens that I had asked my OMS and Neuro about this last week as this has been going on with me for awhile. They explained it to me as 'overworked muscles'. It's like when your exercising and you over do it, the muscles actually get hot<warm> and hurt. With tmj, it usually means clenching, grinding or stress. I'm not usually a clencher and I never grind, but, I did start noticing that when driving rush hour, I tend to clench.
If it persist, I would still have it checked out.
Hope this helps.

I have a " burning" in a small spot in the left side of the back my neck. Thats been there as long as I have had all my other wonderful TMJD symptoms.

Thank you for the quick responses!! I am going in to see my physician this afternoon(I see him more than my family!), so we can discuss it. I am really worried about it, but I know obviously more needs to be done.

I am a clencher/grinder.....and I use an NTI at night. But, I still clench during the day without even knowing it, so I'm sure my TMJ muscles are really tired

Thanks so much!!!
