Is my ear pain weird?

I've been reading about everyone's ear pain and it doesn't sounds anything like what I get. Am I the weird one here? LOL My discomfort starts in the ear, it starts to ache and when I press on my ear with my whole hand it really hurts. I feel the discomfort down into my jaw and in front of my ear and I feel a pulling or stretching sensation when I open my mouth. Does anyone else's ear hurt when they press or push on it?

Hi Lori,

I have almost everything tmj can give you, but I do get the same type of pain your are talking about. Sometimes I get shooting pains down my ears to my jaw, but If I touch my ears they hurt!

I know there are others that have really bad problems with the ears from tmj like ringing all the time and a full feeling so far mine pain is bad everywhere else but there!

My ear pain feels like an earache deep inside my ear. But it does not hurt more to press on it. Mine also gets worse with the cold. Can't wait for winter! From reading this board, I think there are 1,568,564 different symptoms of TMJ!

when I am having a flare up my ear hurts deep inside and it hurts to even touch it..it is also very sire behind my ear ..so I dont think it is abnormal..I think there can be alot of different sensations...do any you ever feel like when you are drinking something that is makes your cheeks feel like when you are eating something sour??? Cant figure out what this coming from LOL

When I press on the left side of my jaw, I get a sound of tearing paper meets rice crispies, if that makes any sense. I feel it deep inside my right ear. No pain really, just fullness and tinnitus. Anyone want to trade? My tinnitus for your pain.
