Post 4 Days on Suboxone and I Feel Great!

Well, it has been 4 days without Vic's and on Suboxone and I feel wonderful! The first day (Friday) was slightly rough, but only slightly! I have had more energy than I have had in years! I wallpapered my whole kitchen this weekend! It is just wonderful to wake up not needing those pills! I actually went a whole weekend without buying any pills! I havn't done that in 4 years! I swear I have had not withdrawal whatsoever, not even depression! Nothing! IT is so awesome to be free of this burden. I can't even describe how good I feel! I really hope that some of you can find a doctor to prescribe this medication for you it is wonderful and a life saver and as far as I am concerned there is no reason for anyone to ever have to go through withdrawal again! Methadone is a joke compared to this medication. I don't feel tired, irratable, edgey nothing. The first night I did have some trouble sleeping but that might have been because I was so excited! I hope that every single one of you out there that has tortured yourself the way I have, can find this medication and you can change your life the way I have. I will keep everybody updated and please don't hesitate to ask questions!

I've read as much as I could find on this and it sounds great! To anyone that has chosen/been forced to go cold turkey this sounds like a godsend. Please keep us posted on everything. If you don't mind me asking, part of withdrawl can be what my mother called "potty trauma", (the runs). Have you had any problems in that area? Also, are you able to concentrate during the day? This just sounds so great. Also, is there anything you can say about the doctor perscribing? Like why Suboxone and not Subutex? And do you know how much longer you think you will be on it? Oh, and I understand that you let it dissolve under your tongue, is that right? Have there been any downsides? Sorry to pester you, but inquiring minds...

I am happy to pass along any info that I have. No, I have NO side effects! No diareha, no sweats, no aches, no pains, no nothing! I swear! I am able to concentrate better than I have in years, I have energy that I havn't had in years. I did have a slight headache a couple of days but a couple tylenols made it go right away. The reason my doctor gave me Suboxone instead of Subutex is because they haven't starting making the Subutex yet! The only difference in the two is the Naloxone that is in the Suboxone, which I think does help with the cravings and I know that if I "slip" an do take a vic, it will make me really sick so I think that is good. My doctor prescribed the 2mg pill because the 8mg is really too expensive, like triple the price. I am taking 4 pills a day, which is 8mg. The pills are sublinguel and task horrible, but it is well worth it! As far as I can see, there is no downside! Nothing. This stuff is great! I really think this drug is awesome! Please ask me any questions you want to, I know what everybody has gone through because I have been threw it and if I can help even 1 person not have to go through the pain, it is worth every word I type.

This is outstanding news Stacy. I wish I had this when I was coming off the pain meds, would not have suffered so badly.

So you are on Suboxone, interesting that you did not feel any withdrawal side effects as a result of the Naloxone. hmmmm

Oh well you are in a good state now and heading the right direction. Good luck and keep us informed. Will they be putting you on a taper program with the Subonoxe? Is curious as to if you feel any down side or withdrawal.

Keep us posted and enjoy.

This sounds great Stacy: I have hope that it helps lots of our members and everyone who seeks help. I remember and still know that Vics trick our minds.

Hydro tricks our bodies into thinking we are not in pain. So, my opinion of Vics are that they are born of a lie and continue to trick us all.

I do know they help some for short-term care. Addiction is a black hole in my honest opinion. I just hope for all to get better and find answers.

It does not come easy...but maybe it will come.

Strength and Peace to all,
