Post YEAH Accutane!

I wanted to document my progress on accutane daily but I haven't had the time so I will try to update it weekly. Anyway I am so pleased with acctuane that I wanted to share my progress so far...

Background info...
-fairly clear skin until 23 (I'm 24/female)
-developed cystic acne - booooo

What I've tried:
-orthotri & estro step - worsened acne
-detox body flush - cleaned the inside out but no effect on skin
-cleansing herbs - rip off
-quit smoking and drinking alcohol - no effect
-changed diet - no effect
-tetracyclin - worsened acne
-minocyclin - no effect
-retin A - slight improvement after 6 weeks
-differin- >GAG< AWFUL - looked like I stuck my face in acid
-benzol peroxide - slightly effective
-cleocin - no effect
-proactive - >cringe< turned my face into a battlefield
-B5 - significant improvement

week 1 - dry lips, no improvement in skin
week 2 - DRY lips, slight improvement
week 3 - DRY DRY lips, yikes -> bad breakout
week 4 - oooo skin so smooth, only few small pimples *lots of compliments on skin (Annie smiles
week 5 - Lips are bleeding and ready to fall off, one bloody nose, a few random zits, skin feels softer scars are fading
week 6 - twin cysts on left cheek (almost healed now) few small pimples, overall skin is not looking bad at all. WOO HOO!

-no nasty side effects yet
-wash with purpose cleanser
-moisturize with jojoba oil
-take vitamin E
-consume drastic amounts of water
-use jane iredale makeup
-LOTS of chapstick

My skin has improved DRAMATICALLY since I started acctuane. I was at a point where I hardly left my apartment. I cried all the time and I made up excuses to get out of hanging out with my friends b/c I was too embarrassed about my face. I slept as much as I could, hoping one day I would wake up without 5 new pimples. I was truly miserable. I've just recently started going out again and it feels so good! I'll update when I can.......

Don't sleep too much, your face needs oxygen to clear and 10 hours in a pillow doesnt help much. Like I've seen recommended 8-9 hours is prime.

Congratulations!

Hope you clear up nicely!

question: if B5 worked so well, how come you tried accutane? its about the same price, cause when you go to a doc, you have to pay a co-pay, then go and still get the prescription... B5 seems much easier and just as expensive.

b5 is nowhere near a substitute for accutane.. even if b5 clears you, its long term effects are unknown.. and when you stop taking it the acne comes back. With accutane it either stops the acne for a long while, or you are permenantly cleared
