Post Cranberry capsules for treating urine infections?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has had any success in treating recurrent urinary tract infections with Cranberry capsules? If so, what specific brand did you use?

I have tried drinking cranberry or blueberry juice until I practically turned into a cranberry or blueberry, but have found them to be no help. (And I'm talking the unsweetened, even organic versions - still nothing). I hear that the capsules have higher concentrations of the key nutrients anyway, so I am willing to try them. But some brands are expensive, and I want to maximize what little resources I have by picking a good one.

So if anyone has any recommendations, please let me know.

Thanks!
-Al

My mother uses them faithfully and they really help her. Sorry I don't know the brand she uses, just thought I'd let you know that they do help some people. Good luck.

My daughter had problems with urinary tract infections as a teenager.

Her Doc reccomended OTC cranberry capsules, we bought CVS brand and they worked fine.

Any brand will work fine or you can just drink plenty of cranberry juice daily too. Also add Vitamin C aka ascorbic acid to your daily routine as this also helps people with chronic UTI's. Just be sure that if you do think you have a UTI that you get it treated promptly as left untreated a UTI can wind up going to your bloodstream causing more damage.

Hi,any brand of the cranberry capsels with work just make sure you have the Cran-max kind. I detest doctors, and get bladder infections very very frequently. Actually I have one now. I find that if I take 4 of the capsels and an anti-inflamitory (advil), a glass of water, and then 15 minutes later take 2 more of the cran-max, my bladder infection symptoms have gone within an hour. I swear by this routine, and it works a lot better than the perscription drugs that i was put on. I prefer to do things the natural way. I really don't know what is causing my bladder infections, but I'm on a low sugar and water diet, and it seems to be keeping the UTI low key. My mother made me cranberry juice from berries we picked, and didn't add anything to it but water. It's really nasty and tart, but it's all natural and sure to be a lot better than the cranberry cocktails you can buy. I hope this helps.
