Post anyone know if this is true?

a friend told me that studies had shown that walking around carrying weight all the time made your body lose weight in order to compensate. he said that theoretically, if you wanted to lose 10 pounds you just needed to strap on a backpack with about that much weight in it, and take it everwhere with you.

is this true? does anyone know where i might be able to find out? thanks!

Hmmmmm. Maybe a back pack full of cookies ????
I have heard that if you walk you should add weights to your ankles and this is supposed to help.

I would be to tempted to fill the backpack with lots of yummies....LOL...

um...I would say no...only because..weight added, just like body weight..pulls on our bones, muscles and joints. To carry around all the time would create a stretching affect since you aren't "contracting" and "releasing" but adding "strain"..
does that make sense?
long term ankle weight wearing has been shown to create major knee problems...I am not talking about an hour here an hour there, or a workout with them, but like an 8hr day type deal.
moderation in all things in life is the key to good living..not excess..
