Post Alesse or Levlite? - Your experiences??

I've been on Ortho-Tricyclen, Loestrin 1/20, Mircette and now Yasmin.

OTC, Loestrin and Mircette all gave me horrible acne, and weight gain - OTC gave me depression. Yasmin was great for the first 2 months, no bad acne after my second week on it, and no weight gain at all. I only experienced nausea every 3rd week on the packs.

Then into my 3rd month, I started experiencing throbbing in my left leg, numbness in my left and hand and pain in my left arm. Then came the horrid panic attacks - I'm 8 days into my 4th pack and I didn't sleep well at all and still feel "wired". I've phoned Berlex (the distributor of Yasmin in the U.S.) and reported my side effects. I'm completely done with it. I phoned my doctor and told them as well.

Anyhow, my clinic has told me to wait until my next period shows and they've given me a prescription for Alesse. To those of you who have tried it or are currently on it, how do you like it?? What about those of you on Levlite?

If this doesn't work out for me - I don't know what I'll do. I just may be one of those people who cannot handle estrogen. I had a copper IUD put in in 1997 and 2 years later had an ectopic pregnancy - so IUD use is out. Forget about the Depo shot - too many hormones there too...and I can't take the mini pills (progestin only) because there's risk of ectopic pregnancy from those. Guess all that will be available to me if the Alesse doesn't work is to tie up the only fallopian tube I have left!

Am I the unluckiest woman when it comes to sex or what??!!

I just stopped taking alesse due to excessive nausea and lightheadedness. Of course Loestrin was perfect for me. Everyone is different and I guess it will be a battle until you find the one for you.
