opinion poll over the "morning after pill"

I was wondering how many people consider the "morning after pill" as being abortion? If so, state why... if not, state why. Thanks alot.

The morning after pill is NOT abortion, and that is medical fact. If a woman has unpreotected sex, or is raped, or the condom breaks, whatever - if she takes the morning after pill within 72 hours, it will either prevent fertilization, or prevent the fertilized egg from implanting on the uterine wall. Medically speaking, it is not a pregnancy until this implantation has happened. An abortion terminates a pregnancy, so these are two very different things.


Many people confuse the morning after pill, which is really a high dose of hormones, with RU 486, which is a non-surgical abortion. RU 486 is the pill that women take to actually terminate a pregnancy.

I too agree with jessilynne.

If people out there are going to claim the morning after pill is "abortion" then i suppose those same people would be claiming that BC is abortion too. Neither of them are abortion.

Agreed. All the morning after "pill" is are a series of bc pills taken within a certain time frame. Certainly not abortion by any means.
