Nortrel..Ortho Novum?

Well I got my new pills filled 2 days ago..and instead of saying "Ortho Novum"..it says "Nortrel--Generic for Ortho-Novum"

It's the same thing right? Same potency and all..just a cheaper brand. Am I correct?

Hope so. This is my 2nd day on the new pill and I've had some dizziness..and a headache here and there. I like to call it "Trying to get a headache."..since it isnt a full blown one. hehe.

Hi. If it is actually the generic form of the pill it should be exactly the same as the original.
If you have an old packet left around you could look at the amounts and types of each hormone to compare.

I had a quick look and I can't tell because there are so many different types of Ortho-Novum... eg Ortho-Novum 7/7/7, Ortho-Novum 1/35, etc

If you were taking Ortho-Novum 1/35 prior to Nortrel 1/35 they are the same thing.

Well see..at first I was taking Loestrin and I hated it! So..I told my doctor I wanted to be on Ortho-Novum since my mom is on it and has had great experiences with it. So..my new packet says "Nortrel--Generic for Ortho-Novum 7/7/7"

I'm guessing Nortrel and O-N are the same thing?

As long as it says it is the generic brand, it probably is. There's no difference in what it contains. The color of the pills might be different, but the hormones are the same, generic is just cheaper
