Question cervical disk disease

I had a plate put in july of 2001. My dr. fixed 5/6 6/7. He said if the other two (3/4 4/5 didnt move then we would be ok to leave them be. I started getting numbness and feeling of being shocked all the time recently. Mostly it was in the right area of my shoulder towards the spinal cord. I went back to my dr. he said it was my fault for not doing my excesises. HELLO I told him I had been doing them. It kills me that these dr.s think we are stupid.anyway My family dr. ordered mri and both my disk have changed and he is sending me to another surgeron. Some of these dr. really play God and they dont care about us. I am thankful for the ones that do care.

Joyann,

Morning,

I think you would find a lot of support and information on the back problems board. I have lumbar problems and I will be going in on Tuesday for another MRI this time for the cervical area. I will be having my 3rd surgery on my lumbar area on June 19, 2002. I would like to hear more about your problem. I am interested because of my up coming MRI.

Hi, sorry to hear about your back problems too. Mine started in 1999. I had lot of pain in right arm and neck. After the mri found that I had actually 2 disk messed up. Really didnt do much for me but PT. Then it didnt help. In 2000 they did another mri and the problem had progressed to 4 disk. 2/3 3/4 4/5 5/6. They still said to watch them and sent me back to PT. In 2001 I was in major pain in both arms couldnt walk without straggering and lost most of muscle in right arm. They then decided to do mylegram and found lots of damage. I had surgery 2001 and they replaced 2 of them with bone from bone bank. I have been in pain since the surgery, it is still bad if not worse. I am facing another surgery soon on the other 2 . I dont have much faith in the dr. but havent a choice as it could permently damage my cord. Hope this hasnt bored u!! I am goin to lexington soon for it. The neck spasms and pain I will have to live with- but its sad I worked all my life and now had to apply to get ss- which case u need to be about dead to get it. Lol its a endless journey... hope yours isnt this rough. GOOD LUCK

Hello,
Keep in mind that the original post was originated back in 2002 and the member who started this thread may not be still on this board. I say that because their last post on this site was back in 2002 also.
I am going to transfer this to the Women's Health board.
