Angry Weight gain - unknown cause

I am a 17 year old female. Yesterday an adult told me that I had gained weight. I have heard this said to me before back in 1999. The thing is, after that was said to me, I became anorexic. Now I guess I gained back the weight. I control what I eat and I know I do not overeat! I never eat junk food, always healthy food. I eat about less than 1200 calories a day. I do at least 15-30 minutes of exercise a day. My mom thinks it's because I've stopped dancing after about 10 years of dancing. What could be causing my weight gain?

Sounds like you've got a good nutritional diet, calories are right, you exercise, I think you're doing everything right. I agree with snowylynne, I'd rely on my scales, weigh regularly, and you'll be able to tell what your weight is doing "for sure", instead of what someone else says. see ya,
Buck.

What adult? A total stranger? A family member?

Why would someone want to tell you that you've gained weight? (Unless of course, you asked them?)

Do you feel happy with whatever your current weight is? Even if you do not have a scale, do you like the way you feel, are you healthy, do you have fun, do you like the way your clothes fit?

If you do, then ignore whatever that person was telling you, tell them thank you very much but your weight is not a topic that is up for public discussion, and do what feels right for your own body.

You'll know, just by paying attention to your own body, and how comfortable you are in your own skin. That is the ultimate measure.

You may limit your intake of calories, but do you limit your intake of carbs? Any carbs you eat that are not used, are stored as fat. I had a friend gain 15 pounds because he drank Mountain Dew 24/7, which is leaded with carbs.

Thanks EVERYBODY for your replies. Oh, it was a person from my church who made the comment. People from my culture tend to say their thoughts out loud to people, instead of keeping to themselves. And I didn't even ask for their comment....I often never ask people to comment on my weight because I don't want to hear what they will say.

I am not very satisfied with my current weight. I wish I could weigh 92 again. But I know that's not too healthy. I wish I could take some of the fat off my abs. But a friend talked to me and gave me encouragement, so I'm feeling slightly better.

Thanks again for your replies!
