Talking Portwine Stain birthmarks

To anyone out there that has an answer for me...where do i go to get a portwine stain birthmark removed? I'm 18 years old, and my dad says i can get it removed if i want, he doesn't want me to, but i do! It's not big, but it's pink and it's right underneath my right eye. I've wanted it off my whole life, but i have no idea where to look. Do you know anyone that can relate with me, someone who may have had one, and gotten it removed. i need some suggestions. I live in Michigan, so i need a local place to get it done at, if it's even possible! So help me! Please! :-)

Hi BabyBlue,

I heard about the use of a special laser which
is able to selectively work on the portwine color.
(This was on television years ago.)

Apparently it takes multiple treatments to do the job
and removes a high percentage of the stain.
I would guess that a dermatologist might be your first
consultation. If that doesn't give you some up-to-date
answers then you may be referred to a cosmetic surgeon.
Get the yellow pages and look up a few dermatologists
and speak to their receptionist about your concerns.

Good luck...

Call your docs office and speak to his nurse and let them refer you to someone who does this. Your can tell you who does this in your area. Laser to remove them is very good these days.
