Post Nighttime throat drainage

Just curious if anyone has experienced nightly
throat drainage while trying to sleep. When I lay
down there is a certain nasal stuffiness; upon
dropping off to sleep, make weird snorting sounds
sometimes waking myself up and most of the time
waking my husband. This seems to have gone on for
a time. Usually when one has the drainage, it fore-
warns you of a cold or something coming on. It, also, has a short cough with it. Just curious if this is
something that anyone else has experienced. It is
getting tiring. Yes, I have seen a Dr. and had
cough syrup with some codeine in it, but still have
the problem. The snorts can lead to snoring, too.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
