Post tingle in fingers, toes and underarms

I have had this problem my whole life. My fingers (particularly my middle and index fingers on both hands), toes (mostly the middle toes on both feet) and underarms tingle for want of a better word. It gets so bad I want to scream. I walk around with my hands in a fist the whole time; it doesn't really help, but doesn't seem quite so bad. And I can't hold my loved ones for a very long time without my underams tingling. The only thing that seems to help with that is keeping my arms by my side. I spoke with my doctor about it and she said it was related to epilepsy and the only treatment was epilepsy medication which was worse than the symptoms. Any suggestions or even if I knew there was someone else out there with the same issues would be helpful.
