Looking at my tounge in the mirror, I notice that it's not red, but white. I tried scraping off the white with my fingernails, and then with a peice of dental floss, but to with poor results. How can I get my tounge red?
I do not know how to take it off. I would see a dr about this though. I may be wrong but I think that means there may be an infection in your body. Please get it checked.-Roni
It could be a sign of thrush but unless it has other symptoms or is real thick don't worry about it. You can buy a tongue scraper at your local drug or walmart type store and that will help.
This is what I do every day and my breath is always fresh and i never have a white tongue. Everyone is prone to a white tongue in the morning. That is all excess bacteria. First I floss my teeth between every tooth. Then I rinse for sixty seconds with listerine. You have to use it for the full 60 seconds. And then I brush with Listerene toothpaste. You need to brush your tongue. That is what's wrong. And I mean brush it good.

I have woken up a couple of times with a white tongue and freaked out! I mentioned it to others who looked at me like a freak! I'd try to brush it off and it didn't really help but then I made a connection! Either I had eaten something very salty (mostly Salt and Vinegar chips) the night before or even the night before that! Just the acidity of the chips made my tongue peel! Isn't that weird? So sometimes it's nothing to worry about!
