Post Dull mind, sleepy feeling...depression??

Hi

I suffer from ocassional bouts of depression, OCD, anxiety, etc but they are usually fairly mild. However, over the past 5-6 days I have been feeling very foggy-headed, sleepy and all of the things which I once really enjoyed doing I could care less about now. I look at my website and think "I should really work on that today" and then I just sit back in my chair and think "ah, what difference will it make?". I just can't get interested or motivated in anything and everything seems like a big effort. I stay up 1/2 the night and then sleep until noon and sometimes I just lay in bed trying to get to sleep but feel like I'm wide awake.

I went to the doctor yesterday about my foggy-headedness, lack of energy and other symptoms and he pointed out that my blood pressure has been pretty high (140/90 or higher at times) over the last few years and insisted that I stay on my meds (atenolol and hydrochlorothiazide). He also said that my sinuses were swollen due to my allergic rhinitis and put me on Azythromycin.

I just feel, weak, tired, foggy-headed, sleepy and I can't even think clearly half the time. Most of the time it feels like I'm buggy-eyed too.

Any idea what this could be?

Tawny,
I am also on BP pills, and fluid pills. I went back to the Dr.due to feeling like you did,and she checked my Potassium level. It was way down below normal.I don't want to scare you ,but she told me this could cause a heart attack, but she was sure it was the fluid pills doing it.So she told me to stop taking them, and come back in 2 weeks for another blood test.I went back ,and even before the blood test I knew I was feeling a lot better. I got the test results, and sure enough my Potassium was right back to normal. So the culprit was the fluid pill zapping the life out of me. I have also been dieting, and I am Hypothroid, and had to have My thyroid medication boosted quite a bit. Have you had your blood tested for your Potassium level ,and thyroid done.If not it may help if your Dr. did give you the blood tests. I hope this helps you ,and I sure hope you feel better soon!!! Good Luck! sjg
