Unhappy Pressure, spaciness, dizziness, help!!

I feel like I'm going crazy or losing my mind! For the past several weeks I have had an almost constant feeling of pressure in my head with occasional dizziness and spaciness. I feel like someone has drugged me! Sometimes sounds are distorted and my eyes seem to see things in a spacey fog. I have a hard time sleeping at night because it always seems to get worse then. The best way I can describe it is that it feels like someone has their hands against my sinuses and the top of my head and they are constantly pressing. All of these symptoms seem to have started in January and they were followed with a severe attack of dizziness which my doctor said was inner ear infection. He gave me meclizine to help with the spinning and it went away in a day or so. Now it's cropped up again with a second attack of severe dizziness and led to the state that I'm in now. If I don't find an answer to this soon I'm going to go nuts!! Anyone have any advice for me?

Read the post titled "lightheaded and ears ringing".

My symptoms seem a little similar to yours, but I haven't had the vision problem or any hearing loss. I do have occasional lightheadedness (not room spinning, just sort of wooziness) with pressure around my ears and some ear pain and headache around my ears.

I've been using Chlor Trimeton (based on another poster's advice) and it has seemed to help some. I've also found that sudafed helps a little.

Anyway, good luck.

Is your pressure/problems on both sides of your head? Have you seen an ENT?

The pressure seems to be located over my forehead on both sides and near the top of my head. It isn't too bad as I type now but it affects me about 80% of the day. It's very odd the way it comes on and decreases every now and then. It also seems to decrease when I shower and seems to be less when I wake up in the morning. Perhaps the shower is cleansing the air of allergins. I really don't know but I need to find a cure for it. I see another ENT next week.

Hi,

I too am lightheaded, slighty woozy. My allergy also is less when I wake up. I also notice an improvement after I shower. My symptoms are not the same as yours, but share some similarities. I am taking Chlorotrimeton 12 mg. twice a day. This gets rid of about 90% of my symptoms. For more information see my post titled Lightheaded and ears ringing. Good luck !

Hello. My name's Laura. I replied to another about similar symptoms and this is what i told her: My dad suffers from the same symptoms as you are describing. He was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease about 3 years ago. You may want to look into that and definetly get it checked out by a doctor. Its caused by a problem of your balance nerve. The dizzines etc is called vertigo. Most of the time when people have this disease it comes along with a ringing in the ear called tinitus. if you would like more information on this topic you can go to a site set up for Meniere's sufferers. it is: http://www.homestead.com/NMDF
Hope this helps out.
