Question Asian Flush

Until recently, I thought i was allergic to alcohol, but by doing some research on the internet, I have found out that I suffer from what is called "Asian Flush". Technically it's not an allergy but a low tolerance to the chemicals that get released during the breakdown of alcohol in your body. Does anyone know any other information about this? Is there anything I can take (medications) or anything I can do about this? Will it become less serious as I age because I'm 17.

IM 21 and ever since I started drinking in highschool Ive notice my ASIAN flush symptoms getting WORST!

I now get hives, red patches, I itch, my back starts to hurt, and my face turn beat red.

Its the Asian Flush and you can VERY well be allergic to it.

Im 21 now so Im faced with hard choices every week end.
Tonight I came home after 1 beer. I was feelin horrible after just one beer. Before it though I was great.

Damn asian flush.
Email me so we can chat.

Hi Mike,

Sorry to hear about your problems.

I hope you never drink on an empty stomach? What you could try doing is eating some bread and drinking milk before you go out drinking. This will line your belly so that the alcohol is not absorbed as fast.

If you do get an allergic reaction such as swelling and such like, make sure you have some antihistamine tablets handy, so you can lessen the reaction. A good natural alternative for this is to take Apis 30c. This is a homeopathic remedy and you should take about one ever 15 to 30 mins until the reaction clears.

I am afraid that I don't know whether this is treatable, but go see your doc and ask he can do anything for you.

Take care

Sarah

Hi,

Apis is a homeopathic remedy that is made from bee venom that is extremely good for allergic reactions. Don't be alarmed - it is homeopathic, so that the substance is extremely dilute.

Have you tried taking antihistamine?

Have you also tried lining your belly with bread and milk before drinking to see if that has any effect?

Good luck

Sarah

Geez, all this effort in order to drink. Maybe it would just be better to cultivate other interests and tastes and avoid alcoholic beverages. It's not worth the discomfort, man!
