Unhappy Generic form of Alesse?

Just wondering if anyone here has been or is on the generic form of Alesse the b/c pill? They just switched me to it yesterday, and I'm a little hesitant. I've got a not so good feeling about the effectiveness of it, and due to health issues, I CAN NOT get pregnant right now. Any information would be helpful!
Thanks in advance!

R.

There's nothing wrong with generic brands of the pill. They're just as effective as the name brand, only they're cheaper. Sometimes the coloring of the pills will be different, but everything else is exactly the same. There's nothing to worry about.

I have been taking the generic for Alesse (CALLED Aviane) and I am doing fine. It has been about 5 months and I have no problems with it. I am not using another form of contraception on top of it, and as long as I take it correctly, there shouldn't be any concerns about pregnancy. Generics are the exact same thing as the brand names. It just means that the patent protection of the brand name has expired, so after that other companies can manufacture and sell that same drug for a cheaper price ( and of course under a different name or by just using its chemical name).

I always refuse generics too. The only generic i have tried was the generic for Alesse; (after taking Alesse for a few months with no problems). The generic gave me horrible heartburn. Maybe something in the cheaper additives, i don't know but i never want to go through that again. Switched to a different name brand all together because of it.
