Incessant sniffing or snorting

My son has been sniffing most of the time usually the whole day and he complains that one half of his nose is congested or clogged. He has been snorting a lot since December. What worries me is it could be an allergy but I have been giving his allergy medications but it hasn't worked. He still sniffs. Is this sinusitis? Will antibiotics and decongestants help? Should I start steroid inhalers like Betamethasone or Fluticasone? By the way, he is also asthmatic. If this is an infection, what and how long should the treatment be?

If I were you, I would give him extra doses of Vitamin C to raise him immunity and help him fight any infection that he may have. This will be much better than antibiotics in the long term.

Did he have skin complaints before he had asthma? Did you use steroid cream on his skin before he developed asthma?

Nope, he doesn't have any skin allergies. I haven't used any steroid creams at all not even steroid inhalers yet. He's allergic to dust and sometimes when he develops colds, it triggers his asthmatic attacks. I give him Cetirizine solution (Virlix) 10 mg single dose. He says it gives him slight improvement but sometimes I still hear him sniff.
