Re: dental cleaning costs?

My cleanings generally run about $58. I am not sure about x-rays. I am set to start scalings today, (absolutely not looking forward to it!), they usually do 4 quadrants (areas) of your mouth, usually 1 or 2 areas at a time. I will be paying $175 per quadrant, or over $700 for my entire mouth to be done. Luckily I have insurance that pays for 60% of the work. I hope this helps.

Re: dental cleaning costs?

I think the post above refers to "scaling and root planing", rather than "ordinary" scaling. Root planing is a procedure to treat periodontal conditions by scaling the roots of teeth. An ordinary "scale and polish" (UK speak) is often referred to as a prophy (US speak) or cleaning, and shouldn't be too expensive =)
