Question PhotoSensitivity & Exercise

I was told that I have a photosensitivity reaction (I have stopped all medications I am taking, including Lipitor which I stopped 3 days ago). I have noticed that in addition to the Sun causing a rash on my hands/arms (mostly) and face (does not itch too much but gets red and feels hot), that when I go to the gym, riding the stationary bike, I develop redness in my arms. Is this a usual relationship between exercise and photosensitivity?

Once I finish the stationary bike, I do a little bit of light work on weight machines and my skin starts improving at that point (also I generally get cooler and sweat less when using the machines). So, I am guessing that the increased sweating and heat associated with aerobic exercise is causing this rash/reaction.

Anyone experience similar symptoms?

Thanks
Bill

Hoping Lipitor is the cause and that in a week or two the reaction would go away.

I have photosensitivity. When I spend time in the hot sun my arms and chest get red bumps. I am not sure about the other except when I started hiking this year every time I got done my face was VERY red. It looks like a really bad sunburn and goes away about a half hour after I return home. So I sympathise but have no answers for you -- sorry!

Thanks for your feedback. I will wait a couple of weeks and if symptoms do not get better (been minimizing Sun exposure) see the doctor again. I think my anxiety about this is making things a bit worse. I keep thinking maybe this is being caused by something worse than photosensitivity!

Hope you feel better as well.

Thanks
Bill
