As many cleanses involve some degree of fasting, there is often a short-term weight loss. If long-term eating habits are not changed, however, the weight will come right back.

oh boy does it ever. I am an experienced health fanatic that was once extremely sick. Cleansing to me was almost as important as taking out my mercury fillings. I not only cleansed to loose weight, I had chronic constipation for 9 months, actually, yesterday was the last day of my cleanse.

There are certain rules on how to eat, what to eat and food-combining that one must know about to be successful.

I drink some dandelion root and leaf tea to detoxify the liver. The idea is that your liver takes blood right after you've absorbed nutrients, good fatty acids, etc. into your bloodstream, but your liver can't work well if it's been stressed with other chemicals and toxins. Beets (as in the roots, not the beet tops) are great for your kidneys (which also help purify your blood, but in a different way). I wouldn't suggest taking them everyday, though. Maybe once a month is more than enough if you're really concerned about the toxins you're taking in ?

Insomniafatigue,

What can you tell me about your symptoms before and after your mercury filling removal? I noticed that you mentioned having them removed.

For me it's a long story. About 23 years ago a doctor told me not to run more than a hundred yards. He also said I was too old, too fat, and that I should take 10 aspirins a day. Today, after having my mercury-silver dental amalgams removed about six or seven years ago, I now run about 19.5 miles a week. I'm a few months shy of being 51 years old, and I run like a kid again.

I also changed my diet to a healthy one, and experimented with many herbal combinations. I found continual success after the removal of my dental amalgams. But the results were very slow. One has to be patient because apparently mercury is very difficult to remove from the human body from what I have read.

For me, I think what has also helped me get rid of these toxins is my efforts to try to exercise. I now also drink more water.
