Question Pycnogenol

Has anyone ever heard of pycnogenol? I've been reading alot about it and it says that it treats a whole lots of things. My son has ADHD and they say this may help him. Dose anyone know anything about that? I'm really afraid to put him on ritalin so I'm trying different vitamins and stuff. Thanks.

Hi I tried it on my so called ADHD son...I say so called because I believe other things are causing or rather were causing him to appear to have ADHD. I did try this on him and it did not work. Its like a natural stimulate so should slow him down...didn't do anything. BUT works great for me after having a bad nights sleep and I need a pick me up. I use it then and it gets me through the day.

Thank you for the information. I may still try it on him. Hey your not an older mom, I'm 39 and my son is 6. That not much difference. My goodness your son sure has a lot of allergy to all different things. Good Luck to you and your son. God Bless.

Hi,
Pynogenol is an antioxidant that comes from the a French pine tree. Some tests I have read about indicate it is 50 time more potent than Vit E and 20 times more potent than vit C. It is called an OPC (oligomeric proanthocyyanidins) and occurs naturally in some foods. Grape Seed Extract is in the same family. I think Pycnogenal is the trademark for the pine bark extract. It has been around for a long time--at least 40 years. You may want to find out more about it.

It suppose to protect the body from free radical damage to the liver and I think the brain and nerves. As well as help allergies.I take Grape Seed Extract daily because I think it's a healthy think to do.

God Bless---Harry

Thank you Harry. I read a few of your post and it seems that you really know your stuff. On Herbal alternative, does it really work I asked you a question. I know it's really hard to read everything on this board. I really would like your input on it. Thanks and take care. Angelwings
