Post neurofeedback as ADHD treatment

Has anyone ever had any experience with neurofeedback either positive or negative? We are trying it on our 5 1/2 yr. old son who was diagnosed as ADHD.

There have been several who have done this with alot of success. I haven't personally done it with my son so can't tell you anything. I just know people have had good results with it.

I do know several parents that have used magnetics for their children and it really has helped. Could be similar.

Hi laf36, I have used some bio-feedback myself and with clients, for pain control. My daughter, who has some of the mentioned Dx has also used it. We specifically use a sensor application, placed on the hand, that
helps the user monitor physical responses such as increased stress and muscle tension. The feedback serves as a cue or reminder to engage in appropriate breathing and/or physical stress reduction practices.

With ADD & ADHD there is also a more complex regimen that helps the child in much the same manner, but includes monitoring of aspects beyond just the above mentioned, such as cognitive function, and others.

If you can access the ADD board on AOL, I know there are several users there that swear by it.

hope this helps some
