I am also fighting a bad flu type cold right now and just had a flu shot 2 weeks ago. This has been going on for about 3 weeks.Does anyone else wake up with this? i have been quite stressed, and also noticed it calms down somewhat in the afternoon.

Any imput is greatly appreciated.

Yes, I used to get this and I also have MVP with regirgitation. My doctor says it's normal. Sometimes your MVP acts up more than others. Mine will go for yrs with nothing than all the sudden...

Stress triggers it as well.

Krissy....

As you said, you are battling a flu type cold. With that, I am sure you could be experiencing side effects from the caffeine in your medicine. I had SVT and couldn't take normal medicine due to the amounts of caffeine in them. Caffeine can trigger faster heart beats and such. This is just a thought though.

Hi and thankyou both for writing! yes i think it may be a combination of stress and having this cold/flu. I am taking nothing but Tylenol & Advil, but this really started before i got sick, thats why i cannot figure it out.I remember having this a while back too,but never figured it out, still haven't.I cannot take really any cold medicine,it sets my heart into bad palps!

Thanks for writing! Krissy

I've been having the exact same thing, it got very severe a few hours after i woke up today. Refer to my thread in the general health discussion at the top.

It's cold medicine with Sudafed in it that will send you heart into backflips. I was prescribed Allegra-D without their knowledge of my MVP (Allegra-D has high amounts of sudafed) It caused my heart to start racing and skipping, shortness of breath, even mild hallucinations. Do NOT take Sudafed with MVP.
