a year after ro acc

HI,
I finished ro-accutane treatment about a year ago and the results were fantastic, but the last 4 weeks my skin has gotten bad again. it's not cystic as it was before, but there are many small spots.
I'm just wondering if you would recommend goin back on the ro accutane or has this happened to anyone else who might have some other suggestions?
I'd be very grateful for any advice cuz this is really gettin me down

hi there,

i know excatly how you must be feeling.I was on Accutane in 2002 for about 8 months and on birth control.Well i hardly had any bad side effects.Only my skin was soooo DRY & FLAKY which i hated but my skin was sooo clear and i loved it.Not even 3 months after my treatment my ance started to return slowly.Anyway i still break out just like before accutane. After $60.00 for it every month, for nothing.I'm going to go back on the birth contro, that helps too.Let me know what you will doing about that. There are so many people that go through the same like you and me.If you need someone to talk to i'm here for you because i'm going through the same as you.Hope i helped a little bit.

Take care

Re: a year after ro acc

Fridayevening,

Presuming you don't revert back to cystic acne, I would probably steer clear of roaccutane for the time being. I took it twice myself - the first course stopped the cysts, so I really didn't need a second course. Try the diet route that everyone is talking about. Try vitamin B5 at up to 15grams a day; if that is not enough try adding saw palmetto and/or chaste berry to the mix. If you want more still try Spironolactone or Avodart. I noticed your a first time poster. Assuming you have only just discovered this board, use the search engine provided by the board to research people's takes on all of that which was mentioned above; you are sure to find something that meets, or, exceeds roaccutane's effects.

Good luck!!
