Question Excelon (recently-approved medication for AD)

My mother in law has been taking aricept for a few years now. It does help, but we are wondering if switching her to this new drug Excelon would be worthwhile. I am aware that the side-effects of both drugs are roughly the same (upset stomach, vomiting, etc.) but I would like to know if anyone "out there" has personal experience with switching medications like this.

Thanks for any help!

My mother has tried both drugs. She got terribly nauseous off Aricept, but is able to tolerate Excelon.

However neither drug seems to be very effective in slowing her deterioration. However I have heard that both have been successful for some people.

All my best to you.
