Post Really young!

i am 25 and just recently married. My mother who has been recently diagnosed with AD is only 52. Although I am not her primary caregiver yet, my father is also in bad health, so it is likely that I will take on that role in the very near future. I was just wondering is there anyone else who is going through this at a young age. I have yet to encounter anyone in my mothers or my position.

Dear Aurablue: I am so very sorry that your mother has AD so young. I have worked as a recreational therapist with AD residents for 10 years now and love it. Unfortunately, middle age persons do get AD. What AD does to the family is so very tragic. Life gets turned upside-down, inside-out and children become parents to their parents. I sincerely hope that you are teaching yourself about AD and have an AD support group that you can meet with. My heart goes out to you and your family. Your mother is young, but my dear, you are even younger and you will be shouldering some very heavy responsibilties with your mother's illness. I wish you and your family the very best and just want you to know how very sorry I am for you and yours.
