Post help

I am not sure my first post went through so will try again. I need to know how to get answers. Mayo clinic diagnosed my husband with mild cognitive impairment and dementia a year and a half ago. Our family doctor ran brain scan that showed atrophy of the brain with alzheimer like changes. Told the hubby it was vascular.
I went to talk to doctor and told him since it wasn't alzheimers I needed to know what to do. He said I did not say it wasn't alzheimers and even if it was vascular it would do the same thing. he wanted to put him on aricept which my husband refused. had him on zoloft for temper tantrums. Since then my hubby has stopped all meds even blood pressure and refuses to see a doctor. He has lost 2 sets of keys in last 2 weeks and I am wrong if I suggest there is a problem.
If I knew I was dealing with alzheimers I would know where to go for help but I cannot get a straight answer from doctors. How do I find out.
Thanks for any help.

Hi I wonder if you have looked into lyme disease. I had a brain spect scan that showed encephilitis sp? and vasculitis and I tested positive for lyme and babesia.
On the lyme board I have read that a lot of people who have been dx with alzheimer's have been misdx and actually have lyme disease. Please take a look at this to make sure this is not the case with your husband.
Especially if he has been exposed to ticks.
