Thinning front teeth

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my 2 front teeth. They are thinning out in the middle of the tooth, not around the edges. Kind of like dishing out I would say.

I went to the Dentist and he took some impressions, and I have an appointment made for next month.

The teeth have no signs of rot or decay, my Dentist said they are hard as a rock, but may break easier do to the the thinning area in the middle. He said that he was not sure what could be causing the thinning, as it is not along the edge of the teeth but in the front center. Looks like a little Canyon in the middle of the tooth. Anyone experience this kind of thinning?

I will meet with the Dentist next month to discuss the results of my impressions, but fear my teeth may have to be capped. I was laid off from work in December and have no Dental Insurance, so the $1000 per tooth I have seen talked about on the net reguarding caps is depressing me a little.

By the way, I am a very heavy Diet Coke drinker, which I thought might have something to do with it, and have Acid Reflux disease.

Mike
