clot in back of head----stroke

My husband suffered a stroke on Wed. He had a clot stroke in the back of head. He is extremely dizzy and equilibrium is off. His eyes are not focusing 100%. No paralysis. The DR says this kind of stroke takes a long time to get over and may never get full balance back. He is 58. Has anybody here know anything about this type of stroke. ??? He also said it was an ischemic type. TIA. He is being put on Aggrenox and symvastatin. He takes 10mg paxil but they may up that 20mg for anxiety attacks. Any info appreciated.

A TIA (transient Ischemic Attack) is temporary and completely reverses itself so it doesn't sound like he had a TIA.

An ischemic stroke means that blood was blocked from part of the brain long enough to damage brain cells. For your brain to recover it needs to create new paths and find new ways to take over for the damaged area of the brain thats why recovery can be a long road and you never actually know how much recovery is going to take place or when it will stop.
