Post Some top rated OA and RA treatments

Though the sections are quite new, these are currently the top rated Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthrits treatments at Remedyfind.com. Remedyfind is an unbiased (non-sponsored), non-commercial, international site that allows individuals and healthcare professionals to rate the effectiveness of the different treatments they have used for specific health conditions - including
RA and OA.

The first number after the treatment name is the overall rating score; 1 = lowest / 5 = highest (the overall score averages the ratings for: effectiveness; lack of side effects; ease of use; cost effectiveness; remains effective over time). The second number (the one in parenthesis)
shows the number of individual ratings (based on remedies that have received 5 or more ratings).

RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

TREATING THE UNDERLYING DISEASE
Antibiotic Therapy    4.1  (15)
Enbrel (Etanercept)    3.9  (13)
Rheumatrex etc. (Methotrexate) 3.4  (13)
Arava (Leflunomide)    3.3  (8)
Plaquenil (Hydroxychloroquine)    3.3  (6)
Remicade (Infliximab)    3.0  (6)
Azulfidine etc. (Sulfasalazine)    1.9  (6)

PAIN / INFLAMMATION
Celexa etc. (Citalopram)    4.0  (5)
Emotional Support: Online Discussion Groups    3.9  (7)
Deltasone etc. (Prednisone)    3.5  (7)
Tylenol etc. (Acetaminophen)    3.5  (7)
Vioxx (Rofecoxib)    3.4  (9)
Celebrex (Celecoxib)    3.3  (14)
Acupuncture    2.9  (6)

OSTEOARTHRITIS
Exercise: Range of motion    4.6  (5)
Magnetic Therapy    4.3  (3)
Glucosamine    4.2  (6)
Vicodin etc. (Hydrocodone; Acetaminophen)    4.2  (3)
Celebrex (Celecoxib)    3.3  (3)

Obviously these ratings reflect the opinions of only a small number of people - and what works for one person will not necessarily work for another - but the hope is that over time the most generally effective treatments will begin to show themselves.
