Does anybody recognize these symptoms?

I am wondering if anybody here recognizes these symptoms. I am going to the doctor, but in the meantime would like your input. I had what I believe was a virus ( because 3 other family members had the same thing who do not live near me and the flu has been going around here). I had an upset stomache, extreme tiredness, lack of appetite, chills and diahrrea. This lasted about 6 days. All of these symptoms went away, I got my appetite back except I now get sick to my stomache only when I have not eaten. I feel fine other than this. I have to hurry up and eat to make it go away. I am also hypothyroid, have been for 2 years and on Levoxyl but do not know if this has any connection because I have done fine with this medicine for 2 years. If anybody has any idea, please let me know. Is this a symptom of diabetes and what is the difference in having diabetes and low blood sugar? Thankyou

Hypoglycemia and diabetes are very different. Hypoglycemics have low blood sugars often when they go long periods without food or when their diet consists of a lot of simple carbs. Diabetics have high blood sugar and low blood sugar because their is a malfunction in their abillity to either make insulin or use it properly.

I would go in and describe your symptoms to your Dr. They can take blood tests for your blood sugar reading and test your urine for ketones, which occur with high blood sugars. Good luck to you

Hello, thankyou for your helpfull information. I seem to be getting better so am now wondering if it was caused by the virus I had. The people on these boards are very generous in taking the time to help others and answer questions and I really appreciate it.
