bloating

Everytime I eat I get boated. This has been going on for about nine months. I have been to the doctor, and I had a ultrasound of my belly and pelvic done. They said everything looked normal, and he didn't know what could be causing the bloating. They also did a stool sample, and said that was normal too. The one thing they thought it might be,is that I have a cyst on my ovarie. I have had the cyst for about three years, and never had a problem bloating before. I've been eating yogurt, and taking acidolphious(sp), to see if it was the whole good bacteria thing, but really haven't noticed a differance. Does anybody have any idea what this could be caused from? It's driving me crazy. Thank you

Yes, they did mention IBS. I forgot that I actually was on some medicine for it, but that didn't help either. The doc said that it didn't really sound like IBS, but he wanted me to try that first.

Re: bloating

I suffered from bloating for years and it got progressively worse. I have IBS so it was blamed on that but none of the medications I took helped. In September I had an endoscopy and biopsies revealed H Pylori bacteria. I took strong antibiotics for two weeks to eradicate the HP. I have no bloating at all now.
Ask your GI to take a blood test to see if you have HP.

Re: bloating

(I am male so I have no experiencein any female specific troubles but..... )

I get what you describe once in a while and it used to continue for weeks or months.

Have you tried adding a fiber supplement? I find that a teaspoon of one called Pro-diem with a full glass of water, twice a day works wonders in reducing what you describe. It simply helps move things along the G-I tract easier. No diareha just better motility. You could try it before going a drug route.

this seems to be a problem for a lot of us, and I have no gall bladder and thought maybe that was why! What is H pylori bacteria if I may ask! akjoha
