still feel horrible after treatment

Hi,

I posted earlier that I had a fungal lung infection. I'm finished my second set of antibiotics and I still feel horrible. I feel almost crippled because even walking makes me short of breath... I was even in the emergency room this weekend and when they released me I was only breathing at 60% ....

Does anyone know what I can do now???

Is it Aspergillus that you have?

What's the name of the med you're taking?

um, first i was on biaxin (not sure of the spelling) and i just finished ciprol. both were 500mg twice a day for ten days.

I'm not sure of the type of infection, only that he said it was fungal.

Is IV antibiotics a possibility? Or injected..that really helps to get things moving! I know Levaquin is available as an injection, thats approved to treat pneumonia.

Cipro?

No wonder you're still feeling sick. Both of the things you took are for bacteria. Antibiotics don't work against fungi. You need an antifungal drug, such as itraconazole. But what you really need is a sputum culture to see what exactly you're growing so the doctor can choose the right antifungal.
