Arrow Advair

Has anyone else had any experience with getting oral thrush from taking the advair inhalor? I think I might have this, but just wanted some other advice from people who have actually suffered from this. Thanks!

Re: Advair

Thrush with Advair is really quite common. Call your doctor so s/he can start you on a medication to fix it.

Re: Advair

A lot of doctors don't tell people to rinse their mouths out after taking Advair. A respiratory therapist told me to. In the future, to prevent thrush, rinse your mouth out with water.

Re: Advair

Thanks for the responses. I've read up quite a bit on this oral thrush since somebody on the boards brought to my attention, that could be what's causing my bad breath (since I never had it before I began the advair inhalor). I do rinse out my mouth every time I use my advair inhalor now, but I guess I just don't want to go to a doctor and sound stupid by saying "I think I may have oral thrush" and then clearly not have it. I do have some of the symptoms, but I'm also a cheek biter, so I'm not too sure if it just looks like I have it because of the cheek biting, or if I actually do. I guess I should just go to see a doctor and find out for sure.... But I'd still like to know your guys' experiences with having oral thrush. What did it look like? What made you think you had it? And so on... Thanks again!!

Re: Advair

I had it and I had a really sore throat. The back of my throat felt raw. They gave me a mouthwash type medicine. Oral thrush is very, very common with these inhalers. The dr will not think you are odd. You might have other kind of infection if its not the thrush.
