FH genetic diet vs statins

Hi,
As I said in previous posts both my sons (age 20's) and myself have "genetic" high cholesterol. I chose going on 20mg of Crestor(no side effects). My previous total level was 641. After 6 wks of Crestor my total was 222. My college son choose diet. He went vegetarian, all low cholesterol foods, even soy milk. Yesterday after 5wks his total level was 50 points higher! I guess diet really isn't a factor. As noted bfore we are all slender, physically fit ect. Anyhow...I thought you'd find this interesting.

Re: FH genetic diet vs statins

Thanks DeAnne,
Yep, We take these drugs because the dietary route so often doesn't work.

Congrats on your numbers!
