Smile New here

Hi! I'm new here.
I have a 10yr. old, nonverbal, severely autistic boy.He has numerous sensory issues. He has been hospitalized twice for extremely aggressive and self abusive behaviors.
I don't mean to sound so depressing describing my son.Sometimes he has great days at home and at school and right now things are not so bad.
One of the medications he was prescribed is Naltexone-for the SIB.It has helped him quite a bit.
I would love to hear from those of you who have children with severe behavior problems. What medications, treatment, special diet, etc.have you tried and had success with?
Thanks,Gwen

Hi welcome. My son is 8 and has autism/PDD. he was dx this sept. he was started on Risperdal and with that he had weight gain and loss of concertration. He is now on seroquil and that seams to help. He has some outbursts that had him trying to run away.
