Post Recently diag. son

My 3 & 1/2 year old son was just diagnosed over the holidays with PDD autism. He's doing very well with therapy and school. However he has been having tantrums that seem to be getting worse, with hitting and screaming. He school psych. and speech therapist thinks it is because we are pushing him out of his safety zone.

Im wondering if anyone has had success with dealing with these.

Also, a nutritionist recommends Super Nu Thera, has anyone used this and with what results both positive and negative. It's hard to tell whats hype and whats not out there in this new world we're exploring.

Thank you in advance

I am sorry to hear about your sons dx. Be encouraged though, he may just need a diet change. Many kids with PDD have food allergies. My 3 year old has the same type of behavior. He is being evaluated for autistic spectrum disorder. he is on the Super Nu Thera. GREAT VITAMIN!!!! As for the rest I suggest changing his diet, by avoiding milk, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy. casein, whey, preservatives, and dyes (red, yellow, blue). My son turns into another child when he has any of these products. He also has enviromental and chemical sensitivities due to the systemic Candida, and depressed immune system. He had an intestinal problem with absorbing and metabolizing foods due to Leaky-gut syndrome, possibly caused from immunization allergy or reaction. I suggest that you try this for at least a month and if he has the intestinal problems causing all the behavior problems it would help minimize the behavior. I am in the process of finding out if MMR vaccine was the cause of my sons problem. Mercury is also another factor to consider. Children with mercury poisoning have PPD, ADHD and or Autistic symptoms. There is a process caleed chelating which removes the mercury and these kids heal. So i would suggest doing you research. My sons intelligence is not affected, but his social interaction, ability to make transitions, and behavior is the problem. I am pursuing finding out about the integrety of his intestines, as I am convinced that this is his problem. He also takes Nystatin for systemic yeast, which is common in children with these types of disorders. The nystatin definately cuts down on the yeast causing less behavioral episodes. The yeast gives off toxins causing neurological symptoms whether it is behavior or fear. There is so much info out there, but for me I am a nurse and I chose to take the alternative madicine route for the most part, as I am convinced that my son can heal from this it is just a matter of time. I refuse to put more toxins, like psychotropic medicine in his body to only cause more problems. Beware of theMMR vaccine!!!!! I will not give it to my son as I was warned that it could throw him into full blown autism. Ihope this helps some. What are your sons symptoms???
