Hi my name is kathy, my son will be three in may. He has a evaluation monday the 2nd of april at 1:00 pacific time. Let me start by telling you about john's behavior, he doesnt talk, he doesnt socialize with other kids he just hits or throws things at them, abusive with me and his sister, destructive, grinds his teeth and tenses up, obsessed with my hair, wont let nobody touch him except for me, his dad, or his siter, hides his eyes and screams whenever someone talks to him including relatives, agresive, hyper,etc.....i have researched alot of behavior problems and the only one that sounds most like my son is a mild autism but i am not sure. i've been joing message boards, its nice to know that i am not alone. Sad but true, I read your post the other night and was laughing... Only because it feels so good to be past this I guess. These behaviours are exsactly like my boys when he was that age. He still has the hair thing with some people, not mine. He also like feet which was an imbarrassment and also made me angry when people (family) would let him smell them and think it was cute. UGH, that one really threw me to the edge. Yes, The bite marks do heal and things do get better. I wanted to write to you the other night, but I had to re-register as I forgot who I was and my password I guess...LOL
And I'm also down the road a bit, so if you need any services, I work for DDD and can help you out if you like. cougar@firetrail.com I actually live just northeast of Arlington (Between Everett and Bellingham). I managed without drugs..can't belived that I survived it. Josh is now a very sweet teenager with a girlfriend (Buddy). He still can not handle certain things, but enjoys being around people and family. I remember bringing in the family (Gram & Gramp) one at a time in the house and sitting them quiet in the living room till Josh got used to them. He used to do so much screaming. DMG worked great for him along with AIT. And of course, reducing his stresses. Not easy, hand in there... and it is interesting, I have found very few kids with such similar fears and actions as Josh. I do know of 1 other boy in Lynnwood like him sorta.. Write me and let me know if I can be of any help.
Sandy
