Post Need info source of leaky gut healing treatment

Krisyd - You mentioned that you read/heard about an enzyme we normally have that is supposed to keep yeast/bacteria in check. I am very interested in looking into this aspect of intestional disbiosis. The more I know about my daughter's condition, the more I powerful I feel in fighting this monster that has seized her. I'm all ears/eyes! Is there a web site, book, etc I should check out. Looking forward to any info you can send my way. God bless.

Hi, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but I have been trying to find the name of the enzyme. I believe it may?? be called DPP4. If you want to get extensive info, you can call Dr. Shaw at great plains lab. He gives free consultations over the phone on lab suggestions due to the Patient history. He also follows up with lab results and discusses thenm with you. I had a few tests done through his lab. We did the Organic acid test, which checks the amino acids, kreb cycle and other labs for identifying any inborn errors of metabolism. We also had the yeast and bacteria test performed. Both of these tests were very helpful, and Dr. Shaw was great with interpreting results and explaining. He also has a book that you could order it gets pretty technical, but not in any way boring or too hard to read. I have my book out on loan to mu GI MD. I am hoping he will spark a desire to really want to research and help kids with Autism. Dr. William Shaw can be reached at (913) 341-8949, or email www.greatplainslaboratory.com/yeast.html. I hope this helps you. Here are a few misc. websites for info. www.autism.com/ari, www.autism.org, www.gnd.org, www.neuroimmunedr.com, Here are a few for healing leaky-gut that I checked into; www.naet.com ( don't know how effective this is???) www.psoriasis-healing.com (Healing leaky-gut, www.feat.org( gut group ). I hear that if the child has mercury poisoning that they need to have the mercury removed by chelating in order to heal the intestine, otherwise this can cause further damage to other organs especially if the mercury shifts in the body to different organs. Dr. Amy Holmes has a site on the chelating. http:''www.healing-arts.org/children/holmes.htm or phone her at (225) 767-7433. I am also trying to find a doctor who will perform the necessary tests to find out the cause of my sons intestinal problems, which I am sure is the ultimate cause of his autistic spectrum symptoms. I hope this helps you. Kris
