I have an autistic son, and was trying to find out information about Urocholine. After searching through many medical references I have come to the conclusion that the correct spelling is "Urecholine."
After searching with that spelling I have found out much more. I have found that in addition to being used a a diuretic, it is used with certain types of poisoning (i.e., pesticides). So, is the use of Urecholine with autistic children actually a remedy for pesticide exposure?
My prescription said "uricholine". (I don't know) There is a Dr. Mary Meagson (maybe Megson) who wrote an article about the use of uricholine.
She believes that the poor eye contact is because the mercury (called thermisol) in the vaccines depletes the natural vitamin A storage in the eyes. She has treated patients by replenishing the vitamin A with cod liver oil for 5-6 weeks, then adding uricholine (the generic brand is "bethanocol")
I talked to a pharmacist about "uricholine" once. He said that it is hard to tell what prescription drugs actually targets now. He said that most drugs that people take are to counteract one or several "side-effects" of the original drug. But he said that uricholine was originally developed to treat the urinary system somehow. He said the clue is the "uri" in "uricholine" He also told me that uricholine isn't prescribed much today. He was interested in what it was going to be used for.
Now, the way I understand it works is that the Cod Liver Oil replenishes the depleted Vitamin A storage, then the Uricholine "jumpstarts" the nuerons in the brain that have been dormant all this time. I don't know how they put the two together.
Does anyone know if Urocholine (the actual spelling is Uricholine {Davis Drug Guide for Nurses})is a prescription drug orover the counter and what happens if you just use the Vit A COL therapy alone?
