Lasik

Has anyone ever had this done? I only wear my glasses when I'm driving at night, watching tv, at a sporting event, or if my eyes are tired in front of the computer at work. I don't want to become too dependent on them. I would love more than anything to be able to see clearly without this fuzzy "film" over everything. If anyone has had this done, I would love to hear about your experience!

Re: Lasik

I know one person that had it done...he couldn't see more than liek a foot infront of his face. He got it done and now can see far away but close up is a real problem so he is back in glasses. I was talking to my aunt and she said the same thing happened to her friend! Hope this helps a little!

Thanks for the reply. Hmm, I don't want to go from not seeing far away to not seeing close up. I just want to have the freedom to see all things at all times. I guess it may all depend on how someone's vision is in the first place?

Re: Lasik

hi,

i had lasik done and everything is great. i can tell you that the fact that these people probably cant' see up close after having lasik is most likely due to their age. when you get into your 40s everyone will need help with close. that is just a natural ageing process of the eye. if you are younger than 40ish then you shouldn't have problems with up close.

hope that helps...

Re: Lasik

Hi Sherry,

I didn't think of it like that but it makes sense. I'm only 25 so I don't think it's anything for me to worry about right now. I still need to do more research on it. A big thing for me is money. Do a lot of people have to pay out of pocket or does insurance cover this kind of surgery? Thanks for all your help.
