Pain in side when breathing

I am having this pain in my side when i breathe. It is up near my ribs. It happens sometimes too if I stretch to move. What could be going on? It's not a sharp pain. More like a dull, throbbing, stiff kind if that makes any sense. Thanks.

Re: Pain in side when breathing

If it's primarily under you right rib cage, it's probably your gallbladder. I had several attacks before I gave in and went to the ER. The one that got me in was one like you're describing. The others didn't make any difference in pain when I took a breath, but this one hurt so bad when I would take a deep breath that I felt like my ribs were going to shoot out my side...ala Wolverine on the X-Men?? No other way to describe it, sorry.....felt like being waffle stomped by a clydesdale.

Go get it checked. If you can, wait till you're not in a lot of pain because they'll do an ultrasound to see if you have stones and if you're having an attack, it's quite painful....trust me! I had to shots of demerol and still wanted to kill the tech for digging around in my ribs! Not a pleasant feeling. Before letting them take it out, if that's the problem, look up a gallbladder cleanse. I didn't and wish I had.

Many people have weight problems and bowel problems after having it out and once it's gone it's too late. So do some checking before they do anything, unless it's life-threatening...which most are not. Good luck, hope it at least points you in the right direction.

Re: Pain in side when breathing

I get this pain after i go jogging. I thought it was from food that was eaten earlier or liquids. So in my case i don't get a pain there unless its after a strenuous run, i have to like push on it cause it hurts, but then it stops after ive gotten my air back and have calmed down. It usually only lasts for a few minutes.

Ive done a bowel cleanse and a liver cleanse. So should i go ahead and hit up a gallbladder cleanse?
