Thumbs up Won Over By Spiro!

This is my first post. I felt compelled to share with you my success with Spiro. Having had cystic acne on and off for the past 27 years and trying all the mainstream treatments, I began to research new treatments. I first stumbled across Spiro on the HealthBoard. I began to read anything I could find on the Net on Spiro and thought it would be worth a try to discuss this option with my family doctor. Before I could hand her my various internet print-outs, she asked me if I had ever tried Spiro.......Sooooo, to make a long story short, I've been 25 mg for 7 days now. I had previously "sported" about 7-8 cysts on my chin for 3-4 months. As of this date, my chin is about 90% clear. For any of you who haven't entertained the idea, please consider it, after researching the medication and discussing with your doctor. The only side effects I have had are: minor dryness of throat and minor fatigue.....but I can handle that anyday compared to the "way I feel" with cystic acne. By the way, I think this may only be prescribed for females. It has anti-androgen effects and alters the way sebum attaches to the hair follicles in your face. I hope this post helps someone because it this Healthboard has surely helped me!

Re: Won Over By Spiro!

Sorry about the misquote on the spiro being only for women.....I believe Spiro is not limited to cystic acne, but could quite possibly clear non-cystic acne as well............It's certainly worth discussing with your doctor.

Anyone else had luck with Spiro?

it works for all types of acne no matter where on the body it is.acne is mostly if not all caused by androgens effecting your sebasious glands and you produce more sebum.now the root cause of your hormonal imbalance is still hotly debated.
