I Thank God I found the Board,

I Thank God I found the Board,
I am very new to the group! I have had such problem with pills….I was eating 20 to 25 hydrocodone ….Today is Sunday I have cut my intake to 10 a day….Instead of eating 3 at once …I am down to taking 2 every 4 hrs. my eyes are much brighter already…The fog is gradually lifting…In my heart I truly want nothing but t to get off ……I read someone said to use a Calendar –which I started on Friday today is good for me. Tomorrow will be my real test at work ---I have plan in line…I will not take my whole bottle with me to work .A couple in my pocket to get through the willies…..I have a positive attitude than before…always allowing problems of everyday life to send me running to my pills…Not anymore! I have had enough…..Wish me Luck!
I love reading about everyone success stories….You guys have really enlighten me …I am now able to get my ducks all in row…I realize it is going to take a lot of will power this is not going to be easy at all means….
Thanks for listening to me…………………….

Re: I Thank God I found the Board,

Everyday - we are so glad you are here. I would like to know more about you when you have time such as how long you've been addicted, etc. You've dropped a great deal and this is wonderful news. I don't have much time right now but let me know your story (or direct me to a previous post where it might list it) and I'll write more in a little while. Congrats on making the decision to get clean - you are on your way!

Re: I Thank God I found the Board,

My story is. I get bad migraines headaches; I was over a friend’s house with a bad headache that is when it all started. I felt so good on it; I could get my house cleaned, cook, raise my son & go to work. This what has been going on for almost 4 years now?
Now the good feeling is gone, healthy glow I used to have is gone. I can tell how money I have spent over the years. That in it self is enough to make you want to quit. I just want my old self back. I never depended on anyone or anything...Look at me now I depend on pills to get me out of the bed in the morning. Sad.
I am so glad to be on board. I am ready for recovery!

Re: I Thank God I found the Board,

Good Morning,
Today is going to be tough to taper off ...I am only bringing 4 pills with me to work today. I guess that is better than what I was eating before the I started. Work always seems to send me to eat more.
Have a good day!

Re: I Thank God I found the Board,

E, you sound great, and I admire your discipline on your tapering. You can do this, and it is well worth it. I just want to encourage you in any way I can. Today is day 30 for me, and my usage was 225 mg. per day, a little above yours. Each day will bring "new moments of clarity" for you. You will be amazed at how your perception of things, including yourself will improve, once the narcotics are out of your body. In terms of perception, I can tell one difficult aspect of it is the recognition of how others view you and your behavior, but don't let the paranoia you get you down...just move forward. Day 5 of being clean will be a milestone, as will the two week mark, and I can tell you at day 30, I feel like my old self. I have already gained 10 pounds of what I had lost, which is huge for me, being a tall and thin guy. Try to time your taper to come off completely on the weekend. Let me know you feel.
